I've been keeping an eye on the 99X Facebook and listening to you guys for a while now...and apparently we don't play enough Lamb of God or Lacuna Coil. So, I figured right out the gate we'd throw Lacuna Coil and Lamb of God in the pit and see who comes out on the other side:

Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band from Milan. Formed in 1994, the group has had two name changes since being previously known as Sleep of Right andEthereal and was inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music. The members have been known, musically, for composing midtempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band's recent material, however, sees a heavier and more down-tuned style, featuring a more distinct bass line and a higher mixing of the guitars within the songs. The band's 2006 release, Karmacode, peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200. Their latest release, Shallow Life, debuted at number 16 on the Billboard charts. The album marks the band diverging their sound from gothic metal to straightforward alternative metal. As of August 2010, Lacuna Coil has sold nearly 2 million records.

Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994, the group consists of vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton andWillie Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler. The band is considered to be a part of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement. Since its formation, Lamb of God has released six studio albums, one live album, one compilation album and three DVDs. The band's cumulative sales equal almost two million in the United States. In 2007 the band received a Grammy nomination for their 2006 album Sacrament. Lamb of God has toured with the Ozzfest twice and appeared on Slayer's The Unholy Alliance Tour in 2006. They have also played at many other major festivals around the world including Download Festival andSonisphere Festival in the UKSoundwave Festival, and Gigantour (headlined by Megadeth). Recently, (2008–2010) they have toured with Metallica (World Magnetic Tour). Lamb of God also played on the main stage on Mayhem Festival 2010. The band's new album Resolution, is set for release on January 24, 2012.

Remember to vote on who you want to see win, and the best band moves onto tomorrow's battle. If they last 5 days, the band get's added into our regular rotation, no questions asked! The power of what we play is in your hands.
