Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate 99x's 20th birthday party. All That Remains, The Pretty Reckless, Joan Jett (!) and Heaven's Basement were all amazing!

This was my first real backstage experience, and it was an interesting one to say the least.

I enjoyed seeing some of our local rockers, plus hanging out with the Heaven's Basement guys (those cheeky Brits!). Chatting with Taylor and Ben from The Pretty Reckless was a ton of fun, too.

Taylor even took a couple of pics for me. It was dark, my camera isn't the best and she couldn't see a thing, but they turned out great anyway. (She snapped the one above.)

But meeting Joan Jett had to be the highlight of it all. It seemed like everyone I talked to at the show was there mainly to see her. She's much tinier than I thought she'd be, but she definitely rocked! Taylor Momsen even joined her on stage to perform "I Hate Myself for Loving You," my favorite tune of hers.

I even got to check out the Muni's jail cell with Heaven's Basement and snap some pics of the guys inside it. They got the grand tour of the Municipal Auditorium's (haunted) basement, and the photo op was just too good to resist. It would make for a great album cover, except for the fact they were one member short.

Every one of the All That Remains gang was super-cool. Much fun was had by all! I came away with plenty of rock memorabilia for my collection, and more importantly some great memories.

Take a look at some of my photos from the pre-show and backstage antics.
