5 Wrestlers That Need To Come Back For WWE Brand Split

It's been an interesting week. The New Era of WWE is officially upon us with both Raw and Smackdown unveiling their new shows and directions. But with the roster split in half, the WWE will need to sign some new talent. Former superstar Shelton Benjamin is already scheduled to appear on next week's Smackdown and rumors are FLYING that other former Superstars are being contacted to return (like Tommy Dreamer).

So, here is my list of folks that I want to see come back for the brand split.

1 A) CM Punk

I'm making this 1A because...let's just get real for a moment...THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL HE'S COMING BACK! With that being said, it would be pretty awesome if he did pop up randomly on Smackdown.

1B) Cody Rhodes

I know Cody is off doing his own thing right now, but I really want him back in the WWE. And I think he'll eventually come back. He's getting the stench of Stardust off of him, writing a book about his Daddy and doing things he never could do inside the WWE. But once he knocks off a couple more check marks on his dream list, he'll be back. I just hope that is sooner rather than later. Now would be a great time for him to get a Title run.

2) John Morrison

This dude is a beast. And it's great seeing him on the Indy circuit and Lucha Underground. But his first trip through WWE didn't go great. Yeah, he won some titles and had some success but not the kind of he have had. Dude should have at least had a run or two as World Champion. But now, I think his style would fit perfectly with the New Era and he'd probably get a stronger push.

3) Colt Cabana

Colt's first run with WWE was less than stellar. But you know what, he could REALLY boost the mid card on either Raw or Smackdown. And outside of Breezango and Golden Truth, there is not really an quality comedy relief. With all the top notch talent WWE has been signing like AJ Styles, WWE could use a guy like Colt to bring the funny.

4) Rob Van Dam

RVD is a long shot because...you know...pot. But, if RVD can clean up his act long enough to pass a drug test and not get arrested, dude could be a huge asset to the company. He's always gotten huge pops from the crowd. He's one of the most athletically gifted performers in the world. Plus he could add legitimacy to any show as a former WWE champ.

5) Kurt Angle

You know I couldn't make this list without including Angle. We're already at third of the way to a Team Angle reunion with Benjamin coming back. He's always been a gifted performer. And much like Jericho, he's never been afraid to put someone else over. As long as Angle can pass a physical, it would be awesome to see him battle American Alpha and maybe go up against Lesnar one final time. It's True, it's damn true.
