Several people are hurt when a car careened out of control into the crowd watching the Krewe of Endymion Parade in New Orleans. The crash happened near the intersection of Orleans and Carrolton.

Police Chief Michael Harrison said the suspect is being investigated for driving while intoxicated. Could this be terrorism related? Harrison said it looks like a case of DWI.

“We suspect that that subject was highly intoxicated,” he said.

Twenty-one people are in the hospital as a result of the crash. Five of them are in serious condition. Seven others victims did not go to the hospital.

One of the people hurt was a New Orleans police officer. Harrison says she is in “good spirits.”
