A rare disease known as Prader-Willi Syndrome might be the cause of a 10-month-old's severe weight issue. According to Medline Plus Prader-Willi Syndrome can cause short stature, poor motor skills, underdeveloped sex organs, mild intellectual and learning disabilities. PWS is a genetic condition that causes the human body to have never ending hunger, no matter how much that person eats, they feel starved. According to the Foundation For Prader-Willis Research there is no known cure for Prader Willis Syndrome.One way to help manage PWS is extensive hormone treatment which is extremely expensive  Luis Manuel Gonzales is only 10 moths old and weighs over 62 pounds. According to Livestrong.com an average 8 year old boy should weigh 56 pounds.

Luis Manuel's parents Isabel and Manuel Gonzales are concerned, and fear that if their child does in fact have Prader-Willi Syndrome they may not have the money to get him the help he desperately needs. If Luis Manuel does have PWS, his case will be the first case recorded in Tecoman, Mexico.
